New Courses
DRAMATIC ARTS (ADA301) – This course requires students to engage in dramatic processes and the presentation of dramatic works, and emphasizes the application of drama skills in other contexts and opportunities. Students will interpret and present works in a variety of dramatic forms, create and script original works, and critically analyse the processes involved in processing drama works. Students will develop a variety of skills related to collaboration and the presentation of drama works.
WORSHIP ARTS (AEA301) – This course will emphasize the importance of the interrelationship between the arts and personal/spiritual development. Students will analyze and create a variety of approaches to worship, with the goal of preparing them for service in their church community.
LAW (CLN4U1) – This course explores elements of Canadian law and the role of law in social, political, and global contexts. Students will learn about the connections between the historical and philosophical sources of law and issues in contemporary society. They will also learn to analyze legal issues, conduct independent research, and communicate the results of their inquiries in a variety of ways.
RELIGION (HRE4M1) – This course has the aim of assisting students in understanding themselves as moral persons living the way of Christ through an examination of the revelation of sacred Scripture, and the teachings of the Christian church. It engages students in critical reflection on significant contemporary moral and ethical issues in light of Scripture, Church teaching, and their own experiences. Social and ecological justice issues are explored along with a study of topics that focus on Christian mercy and forgiveness. The graces and challenges of relationships, marriage, and family life are explored from a Christian perspective.
