Affiliations

Woodland Christian High School is accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education and is an active member of the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools (OACS) and of Christian Schools International (CSI).. These organizations provide Woodland with a variety of support services, including financial advice, school inspections and reviews, curriculum materials and employee benefit packages. All of our staff are certified, highly qualified teachers and maintain professional affiliations which include the Ontario College of Teachers, Ontario Christian Schools Teachers Association, and many of the Ontario Departmental Teachers Associations (English, History, Science, Technology, Business etc.).

Diplomas

Woodland offers students two diplomas: the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and the Woodland Christian High School Diploma. We are routinely inspected and approved to grant credits and diplomas by the Ministry of Education. In addition, the Woodland diploma is offered as an expression of our distinctiveness as a Christian school. The Christian content of our program extends far beyond the morning devotions and chapel sessions that we enjoy on a regular basis with our students. It is the foundation on which we build and frame the content of our courses. Because of this we are proud to offer the distinct Woodland Christian High School Diploma. The requirements of this diploma encourage students to take a broad range of courses from a variety of disciplines and be involved in a wide range of activities, which extend beyond the requirements of the OSSD. At Woodland, we acknowledge that God’s Kingdom includes all aspects of Creation. Because of this, we see God’s hand and look for his wisdom in all areas of study. In each of the disciplines, we find foundational aspects of Christian truth and life, and we seek to unfold these aspects as we teach and learn. The basic questions of “worldview” (Who are we? What is it the problem? What is the remedy?) focus our attention on the sovereignty of God, and our role as his followers to bring love, hope, and healing to our world.
